Who am I?
I read and write in English primarily. I am of Chinese ethnicity and speaks Mandarin, not Chinese, infrequently and writes in Chinese even less. I listen to English, Japanese songs and sometimes my fav German folksong and sometimes SEA lang songs. I speak somewhat passable Cantonese and am learning Vietnamese now. I speak Singlish and tries my very best at being fluent in Hokkien expletives. I consume American culture and Japanese culture as well. But I lived in a place that is truly Southeast Asian as well as Singaporean, in which the best language is the main sustenance of life, MAKANA! I lived in a world where I learn everything but myself, in which the world wants nothing but myself.

Track of My Tears (1965) -Smokey Robinson
The End (1967) - The Doors
[Start]
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again
[main body of song omitted]............
[End]
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end
When the Man Comes Around (2002) - Johnny Cash
For those who dun appreciate the peace we have or have taken life for granted. For those who have known materialism only and none other.

Yojimbo (Bodyguard) - Akira Kurosawa
The film is about this wandering ronin which randomly (he throws a stick in the air at a crossroads n went where it pointed :) lands him in this town in which two gangs rival for mastery of the town's trade. The ronin offers his services as a Yojimbo. He then proceeds to double-play the two gangs making them to fight it out, in order to get rid of the 2 gangs for the peace of the town through his various acts and schemes. This is the last fight scene as he faces the remnants of the last surviving gang. The main lead was practising his knife-throwing skill while he was recovering from an earlier fight scene before this(he practised hitting floating leaves in his hut). The last man standing alive was actually a farmer's son from outside the town and joined the local gangs to get rich. His father tried to persuade him otherwise, and the son retorted he didnt want to spend his whole life eating mush at a run-down farm and heads to this town to strike it rich. Akira Kurosawa was a world-famous director starting from the 1950s-60s. His films were some of the early films that were distributed to worldwide audiences during post-war era. His style was very well-received, especially in the Western sphere which got their 1st taste of this emerging(or re-emerging) Japanese films and culture. His other notable films are Rashamon and Seven Samurai. The main lead is Toshiro Mifune, an actor which he repeatedly starred in his famous films, which incidently made Toshiro Mifune the most well-known portrayal of a Samurai or Ronin in film. This movie was the inspiration for 'A Fistful of Dollars' starring Clint Eastwood. A Western wild west adaptation was made for Seven Samurai as well.

A Tongkiah For Your Thoughts
The people whom one often loses his/her temper with, is often the same people whom are closer to you. Cus deep down, one reckons that the same people would forgive you more often than others.
